Cecil C. Carpenter "Carp", age 90, died in the early hours of Monday, July 17, 2006, at his residence in Oshkosh. He was born to the late LeRoy and Jennie May (Streeter) Carpenter in the Town of Omro on March 31, 1916. Cecil was united in marriage to Julia Busha on December 6, 1934. They had three wonderful children. Julia preceded him in death in 1973. He then married Ruth Walter on August 17, 1953. She too, preceded him in death in 1986. Cecil also had a special friend: Marie Doemel of Oshkosh. They were very fond of each other. She also preceded him in death.

During World War II, Cecil proudly served his country. He liked gardening, socializing, and walking in County Park. Cecil gained status of Mercury Quarter Century Club for 25 faithful years to Mercury Marine. He will always be remembered as a loving and generous father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter: Barbara (Arden G.) Todd and a daughter-in-law: Jiam Jit Carpenter, both of Oshkosh, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives: Julia and Ruth, his special friend: Marie Doemel, his son: LeRoy, his daughter: Marion Elaine, and his parents.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street. Pastor Lynn Scovil will officiate. Guests may gather from 12:00 (NOON) until the time of service. Burial will take place at Ellenwood Cemetery.
