Clara R. Schuhart, age 89 of Oshkosh, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay on Friday, July 28, 2006. She was born in Oshkosh on October 27, 1916 to Henry and Mary (Weitz) Merkel. On September 5, 1935 she married Harold Lucht. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1970. She then married Alvin Schuhart on April 30, 1983. They enjoyed 13 years together until his death on June 3, 1996.

Clara was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She sang with the choir and was a member of the Ladies Guild; she was also a member of the German Club. She was a kind loving, hard working, sweetheart. She loved everyone.

Clara is survived by her daughter: Beverly (Ken) Kubiak of Green Bay; step-children: Margaret (Edwin) Schettl of Winneconne, Alton (Carol) Schuhart of Seguine, Texas, Gerald (Mary Ellen) Schuhart of Oshkosh, James (Elissa) Schuhart of Madison, Sandra (Dennis) McHugh of Oshkosh, and Thomas (Mary) Schuhart of Aransaspas, Texas; grandchildren: David (Lynn) Worthen of Green Bay, Karen (Mike) Northam of Appleton, and Eric (Pam) Worthen of Barto, Pennsylvania; 16 step-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers: John, Henry, Alex and William Merkel, and sisters: Mary Poffenroth, Anna Daubert, and Pauline Miller.

Funeral services for Clara will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 North Eagle Street, Pastor David F. Pagel officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support on Monday, July 31, 2006 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
