Darlene Ann (Schilhabel) Grunske, age 85, passed away on January 30, 2026, in Oshkosh, WI. She was born to parents, Orville Walter and Irene Esther (Blake) Schilhabel, on January 17, 1941, in Appleton, WI.
She graduated from Menasha High School, married Donald Garrison in 1959 and started a family. Together, they raised five children. She remarried in 1980 to Rodney Grunske.
Fond stories were told of the roller rink days where she met her first husband. Darlene and Don worked for Friar’s Ambulance in the mid-1970’s.
She and Rod were part of the CB Club and the Omro Antique Tractor Club. Darlene enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, sewing and gardening. She could often be found in her yard planting flowers and tending to her shrubs. Darlene worked for House of Flowers for over 10 years until her retirement. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her children, CindyLou (Douglas) Seefeld, Cheryl Dahlberg (Dave Geneske) and their children, Patty (Chris), Jeff (Penny) and John (Jodi), Julie Mier and her children, Katie and Ashley, Corey (Kelly) Garrison and Christopher (Ingrid) Garrison and their daughter, Alysa; great-grandchildren, Mason, Brady, Joseph, Connor, Lily and Sadie; brothers, Terry (Pam) Schilhabel and Tom (Barbara) Schilhabel ; step-daughter, Pam (Paul) Dicke; step-sons, Robert Grunske and David Grunske; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Donald Garrison and Rodney Grunske; infant daughter, Jane Ellen; and son-in-law, Charles “Charlie” Mier Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh, WI, 54902, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with service to immediately follow. Her final resting place will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her honor.
