Donita Y. Tagatz, age 84, of Oshkosh, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on April 11, 1923 to Emil and Ruby (Osgood) Strandt in Tomah, Wisconsin, one of nine children. On September 4, 1948, she married Arden R. Tagatz in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Donita was a member of First English Church and participated in the Cross Connections group at church. Both she and her husband were very involved in sewing quilts for the mission groups. For 20 years, Donita was a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She loved making pies and cooking for Christmas.
Survivors include her two sons: Jerry (Janet) Tagatz and Greg (Jillaine) Tagatz, both of Oshkosh; two grandchildren: Robert Jon (Arnie Spitzmaker) Tagatz of Green Bay, and Leah Renee Tagatz of Oshkosh; and a special niece: Pat Mahn of Milwaukee. Several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive Donita. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her siblings.
The funeral service for Donita will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 (TODAY) at 7:00 PM at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Martin Rouge officiating. Friends and neighbors may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Donita's name is being established for the Oshkosh Humane Society.
