Edwin E. "Bud" Holmes, age 71, died early Friday morning, October 27, 2006 at Ainsworth Hall Nursing Facility at King, WI after a long battle with Cancer. He was born March 25, 1935 in Merino, Colorado, the son of Floyd and Nellie (Sevenson) Holmes. Bud was united in marriage to Geraldine "Gerry" (Nee Layle) on December 5, 1964 in Milwaukee, WI. She preceded him in death on August 16, 1989. Bud loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Being a true Wisconsinite, he was a loyal Packer and Badger fan. Bud was employed at Vulcan Materials Company in Oshkosh for many years.

Bud is survived and will be missed by his sons, Tommy and Timmy, both of Redgranite, Dennis of Omro; sister in law, Joyce Holmes of Waupaca, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" and his brothers, Charles and William.

In respect to Bud's memory, visitation will be held at the Omro Funeral Home on Monday, October 30, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Service of Remembrance at 7:30 P.M. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Omro Cemetery. A memorial in his name has been established.
