Erin Elizabeth (Mattie) Rossiter, age 31, of Santa Clara, California (formerly of Oshkosh), passed away peacefully on February 15, 2006. She was born on July 10, 1974 in Madison, Wisconsin. Erin married Mitchell Rossiter on November 23, 2002 in Monterey, California.
In addition to her husband Mitchell, Erin is survived by her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Melvin Reasby of Fredonia; her father and stepmother, Richard and Dorothy Mattie of Madison; her parents-in-law, Thomas and Marsha Rossiter; brother-in-law, Stuart Rossiter; and sister-in-law, Lee Rossiter, all of Oshkosh. Erin is further survived by a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Erin grew up in Madison and moved to Oshkosh as a teenager. She was a 1992 graduate of Oshkosh West High School. Erin had a special love for animals. She was an accomplished equestrian and had participated in numerous show and competitions. She also enjoyed keeping tropical aquaria, and she loved especially her dogs. Erin will be remembered for her gentle and patient nature.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visitation and support will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh at 10:30 a.m.
