Obituary

Florence Irene Stickney, age 86, died at the Omro Care Center on Sunday, July 16, 2006. The former Florence Lloyd was born on January 18, 1920, in Berlin, to the late Louis and Margaret (Hoppa) Lloyd. Florence married Clarence Stickney on December 30, 1944, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Berlin, while he was in the Army, Clarence survives. Florence and Clarence lived on a small farm until 2000, when they moved to Berlin. She was a glove stitcher at Berlin Glove/Midwestern and Saeger Glove for many years.

She was an active member in her church and was also a member of the Christian Women Group at St. Mary's Parish in Omro. She was also an active member in the Berlin V.F.W. Auxiliary, D.A.V Auxiliary in Wautoma and a volunteer of the CHN Auxiliary. In earlier years, she and Clarence were members of a Square Dance Club. Florence was very involved in all activities at the Berlin Senior Center.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Clarence; three sisters, Lois Wagner, Ruth Krause and Orpha Piekarski all of Berlin; one brother, Pat (Pauline) Lloyd of Burlington; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by one sister, Genevieve Pribnow and her parents.

In respect to Florence's memory, a visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in Marion Hall at St. Mary's Parish, 233 E. Scott St., Omro from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 P.M. with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will be on Friday in Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin. Memorials in Florence's name may be directed to the organization of your choice.
