Harvard J. Wendt, age 86, of Omro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2006, at the Omro Care Center. Harvard was born on November 15, 1919 to Ernst and Ida (Neuman) Wendt in Tigerton, WI. He was a farmer, and worked for the Town of Omro until his retirement. Harvard was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, and will best be remembered for his charming sense of humor. He thoroughly enjoyed life.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia Goyke of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters in law, Isabelle Wendt of Oshkosh and Eunice Wendt of Loveland, CO; one nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Alfred, Earl, Wilbert and Ralph Wendt; and sister, Viola Peppler.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wendt will be held at the Omro Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Russell Kloehn officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Harvard will be laid to rest at Ellenwood Cemetery.
