Helen P. White, age 85 of Oshkosh passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was born June 18, 1925 to Guy and Viva (Henderson) Warden and married William E. White on June 3, 1950 in Eau Claire. William preceded her in death on November 18, 2010.
Helen was a strong, intelligent woman, who like many of her generation, sacrificed her education and career to raise four very independent children. Earlier in her life she was a secretary for the Veteran's Administration and Social Security Offices in Madison and also worked as Project Associate through Midwest Administration Project in Chicago. After her children were all in school she worked as an administrative assistant at the UW-O Newman Center and sold real estate for many years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, reading, socializing, being with family and traveling. She will be remembered for her quick wit, honesty, love of lively conversation and her deep caring and generosity for anyone in need. Her absence will be felt greatly by her family and friends.
Those who will forever remember Helen include her children, Sharon (Robert) Gilson of Madison, David (Eileen) White of Madison, Timothy (Ann) White of Oshkosh, Christopher (Ione) White of Skanee, Michigan and seven grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Barbara Zeug, John Warden, William Warden and Guy Warden. Preceding Helen in death is her husband; parents; siblings, Benjamin, Harry, James, Margaret, Gene and Marian.
A memorial mass for Helen will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, May 6, 2011 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh. The family will greet friends following the mass. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com to send online condolences to the family.
