Henry A. Schultz, age 93, of Ripon, died Saturday morning, March 4, 2006 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon. He was born on February 18, 1913 in the Township of Mecan, Marquette County to Emil and Bertha (Sell) Schultz. He was baptized and confirmed at Little Mecan Church. Henry married Adeline Bethke on July 5, 1936 in Germania, Wisconsin and she preceded him in death on June 22, 1985.
Prior to working in factories, Henry worked on many farms in the Fairwater - Markesan area. Upon moving to Oshkosh in 1936, he worked on some farms and had his own milk route in Winnebago County. Henry was employed for over 20 years at the Deltox Rug Company/Armstrong Cork until it's closing. He then closed his working life at Oshkosh Excelsior, retiring in 1977. Henry enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, fishing, chopping wood, and playing cards with his family. He was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lucille and David Pflanzer of Oshkosh; two grandsons: Raymond Pflanzer of California; Steven Pflanzer of Oshkosh; two brothers: Alfred Schultz of Borth; Ervin Schultz of Oshkosh; one sister: Elsie Gallert of Berlin; two sisters-in-law: Beverly Bethke of Oshkosh; Dolores Freiberg of Oshkosh; a godson: Gary Bethke of Berlin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Henry in death are his wife; a brother: Edward; four sisters: Louise, Augusta "Gustie", Lilly, Emma; 10 brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Church Ave., with Reverend Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating. Interment will be in Ellenwood Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will held on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. A memorial is being established in Henry's name.
