Jerome Arden Tagatz, 74, passed away unexpectedly in Appleton, WI. He was born in Oshkosh, WI to parents, Donita (Strandt) and Arden Tagatz on September 27, 1951.
He graduated from Oshkosh High School and on August 11, 1991, he married Janet. Jerome worked at Bemis (aka Amcor) in Oshkosh, in his free time he enjoyed cooking, playing poker, spending time with friends, neighbors and relaxing with his dog, Lucy.
Jerome is survived by his brother, Gregory (Jillian) Tagatz; nephews, Robert Tagatz and Bruce Westwood; nieces, Coral Westwood and Leah Nettekoven; brother-in-law, John Wieland; and sister-in-law, Julie (Glenn Westwood) Wieland.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Tagatz; parents, Donita and Arden; grandparents, Emil and Ruby Strandt, and Adolph and Ester Tagatz.
A visitation will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10am to 11am, with service to immediately follow at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the family on Sand Pit Lane.
