Jerome E. "Jerry" Schuster, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. Jerry was born on June 19, 1931 to John and Elizabeth Schuster. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1949.

Jerry was known for his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed farming, hunting and horses. Jerry believed in the importance of local government and served on the Town of Nepeuskun Board for 18 years, as well as serving on the Wisconsin Conservation Corps for 9 years. He recently served on the Winnebago County Land & Water Committee. Jerry was also a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, serving in any capacity he was asked to serve.

Jerry is survived by his brothers, Joe Schuster and Jack Schuster; his sisters, Mary Ellen (Richard) Doro and Margaret (Loren) Cismoski; and 20 nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Betty Schuster and sister in law, Naomi.

Jerry's family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and other staff at mercy Medical Center for their compassion and care, and a special thanks to everyone for your prayers and support. It meant a lot to know you were with us.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro from 1:00 P.M. until 5:45 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest in the Omro Cemetery on Saturday, May 5, 2007.
