Joe W. Askew, age 83, passed away October 28, 2012 , at Douglas Health and Rehab. Joe was born November 23, 1928, to Elbert and Ione (Epperson) Askew. He grew up in Delafield, IL. Joe served his country in the US Navy. He was a body and fender repairman, and retired from Waters Body Shop. He enjoyed the water; fishing, boating or just sitting beside it.
He was loved and will be missed by his children, Deborah (Garl) Tungate of Lakeland, FL, Durward (Cathy) Askew of Neoga, and Denise (Steve) Kwiatkowski of Omro, WI; his grandchildren, Kristi (Ted) Sidenstricker, Carl Fagan, Jesse (Ginger) Fagan, Brian (Lisa) Askew, Tanya Cline, Rachel Askew, Amy Butler, Katie (Mark) Williams, Shane (Heather) Janssen, Ann (Jason Fitzgibbon) Secrest, Andrew Bevacqua, Caleb (Allison McCann) Secrest; his long time friend, Jan Cornwell; her children, Pat (Tim) Alcorn and Bob (Marita) Washl; her grandchildren, Eric (Page) Alcorn, Lori (Tony) Carlson, Maddy and Katelyn Snader; 25 great grandchildren and one on the way; one great great grandson; his sisters, Lois (Bill) South, Pat (Manuel) Smith; brother, Ron (Ruth) Carr; many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe W. Askew, Jr; brothers, Durward, Paul and Lyndall.

Services will be held in Illinois.
