Johann Aschenbrenner, age 85, of Omro, died Tuesday evening, August 28, 2012, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Johann was born May 31, 1927, in Yugoslavia, the son of Josef and Agnes (Palm) Aschenbrenner. He married the former Maria Lenz in 1944 in Yugoslavia. They moved to the United States in 1952 and settled in Milwaukee before moving to Omro. For many years Johann farmed in the Pine River area and also worked and retired from Speed Queen. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and gardening.
Johann is loved and will be missed by his wife of 68 years, Maria; sons, Mathias (Mary Ann) of Appleton and Johann Jr. of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Scott, Jill and Alexandra; great- grandchildren, A.J., Jarod, Josef, Kelsi and Aniela; brother, Josef (Gisela) of Mukwonago; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katie Wilk.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and then again on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Luke Ferris and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the ICU Staff at Theda Clark for the compassionate care and concern shown to Johann and the rest of his family.
