John E. "Joisie" Sagen, age 82, of Oshkosh, died Monday afternoon, June 19, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on June 23, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Frances (Lewandowski) Sagen. John married Mary Davis on February 18, 1950 in Chicago.
John and Mary owned and operated Anderson Cleaning Systems, Inc. from 1972-1999. He was a pilot, a member of Fox Valley Aero Club, and EAA. John also built model airplanes, Winnebago RC Flyers, and was a former Cub Scout Leader. John served in the U.S Air Corps during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sagen of Oshkosh; four children, Carole Sagen of Oshkosh, Kathleen (Jeff) Lammers of Oshkosh, Judith (Bill) Grimes of Sacramento, California, and Joseph (Erron) Sagen of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Thomas (Kelly) Walzer, Jason (Andrea Floren) Walzer, Kate Grimes, Will Grimes, Madisen Sagen, and Bailey Sagen; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Rhianna, and Paige Walzer; one sister, Theresa Kueltzo of Fairfield, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. Preceding John in death are his parents; one brother, Leonard Sagen; and one sister, Rita Blizniak.
A time of sharing memories will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Family and friends may gather at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. His family would appreciate memorials to American Heart Association in John's name.
