Obituary

Julie Ann Dodd, age 51 of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born April 20, 1959 in Neenah to Elden and Carol (Ault) Skifstad Jr., Julie graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 1978 and attended Fox Valley Technical College for over 3 years. In April of 2004 she married Thomas A. Dodd in Oshkosh.
Outgoing and talented, Julie had many talents and hobbies including: sewing clothes for her granddaughters, crafts, camping and cooking (her campfire pizzas were out of this world). She loved horses, horticulture and volunteering with Special Olympics at Country USA. Skydiving and packing parachutes was also one of her favorite things to do. She also square danced with her grandparents for many years.
Left to mourn the loss of Julie and forever cherish her memory is her husband, Thomas A. Dodd of Oshkosh; parents, Elden (Sandra) Skifstad Jr. of Oshkosh; children, John H. Galston Jr., Katie Galston, Brian Galston, Thomas F. Dodd, Butch Dodd, Jackie Dodd; grandchildren, Ashanti Roberts, Dillon Galston, Coral Edwards, Zara Edwards, Brian A. Galston Jr., Jesslyn Dobrowolski; siblings, Lee (Jon) Weiss, Brenda (David) Schaffer, Elden Skifstad III, Rex Skifstad, Diana Boehning (Stem Cell Donor), Gwyndolyn (Neil) Byars and Tammy Hart. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and special friends, Merlin, her fishing partner Mag, the Omro Skydiving Crew, and Terry Schaffer. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Carol (Ault) Rice and her mother-in-law, Betty Jane Dodd and father-in-law, Arthur Dodd.
Funeral service for Julie will take place at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh with Pastor Jennifer Czarnota officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.
