June E. Ackerman (Mc Kone) died peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, daughter of Terrence and Esther (Cowling) Mc Kone.
She attended Oshkosh High School and upon graduation began her career as a talented seamstress at Neuberger's. During World War II, she married Richard H. Ackerman at St. John's Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. After the death of her husband, she worked for many years at Oshkosh Tent and Awning until her retirement.
June loved her three grandchildren and enjoyed watching them participate in their many sporting activities as well as sewing wonderful Halloween costumes for them in their youth. She also enjoyed her many outings to Mike's Place with friends and family.
June is survived by her son: John (Julie) Ackerman of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Anne Ackerman of Oshkosh, Joe (Sarah) Ackerman of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Alex Ackerman of Oshkosh; and sister-in-law, Audrey Ackerman of Oshkosh.
June was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Ackerman, and parents Terrence and Esther McKone of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The funeral service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH (St. Peter), 435 High Ave., Oshkosh, with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Park.
