Obituary

Kay M. "Casey" Copp, age 73, of Oshkosh, passed away Friday evening, August 10, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. She was born December 9, 1938 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Harvey and Florence (Hansen) Oleson. She married Thomas E. Copp on May 27, 1961 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2003. Casey was a bowler and golfer and held various offices in the leagues she was a member of. She was a very caring and giving person who volunteered for the Special Olympics for 15 years. Casey was a member of the Lady Elks Club, and enjoyed trying a variety of jobs and volunteered her time to the schools. She was a member of the Dairyland Pioneers and in her spare time enjoyed working with crafts. In addition to all her other passions in life, Casey had worked as a floral designer for many years.

Casey is loved and will be missed by her children, Cameron Copp Cynthia Jacobson and Craig Copp, all of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Dalton and Dylan Jacobson of Oshkosh; granddogs, Cecil and Cooper; sister, Patsy (Fritz) Lautenschlager of Fond du Lac; brothers in law, Robert Kirchhoff of Milwaukee, Clarence Tesch of Oshkosh; sister in law, Mary (Gunther) Engelmann of Oshkosh; close friends, Jan, Sue B. and Carol, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; grandson, Lucas Earl Jacobson; brother, Howard "Bud" Oleson; and sisters, Beverly Kirchhoff and Sally Tesch.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St., Oshkosh, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at church at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Andi Wolf officiating. Casey will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Dr. Gremminger and the Cancer Center Staff at Mercy Medical Center for the compassionate care given to Casey during her illness.
