Kenneth W. Grant, age 63, formerly of Omro, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2010, with his sister Marcie and brother-in-law Tom, at his side, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 1, 1946, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Kenneth R. and Betty J. (Wesner) Grant. He married Jeneanne Niblock in Rockford, IL in 1974. He was a professional truck driver for 33 years. He enjoyed collecting model cars, going to car auctions, playing cards and other games with his family and walking on the beach in California. He will be remembered for loving his family and making sacrifices for them.
Ken was a loving Son, Father, Brother, and Uncle. He was an excellent role model to his family and provided emotional support to those he loved. He was funny and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Ken is survived by his beloved daughter, Angela (Jim) Salamon of Sterling Heights, MI. Grandchildren, Courtney Salamon and Reid (Ben) Brandle of Sterling Heights, MI, his sisters, Marcie Purtell (Tom) of Anaheim, CA and Kay Tritt of Cheyenne, WY. Nieces and Nephews; Rita (Justin) Hausmann and Shelly Koch of Cheyenne, WY, Joe (Valentina) Purtell of Anaheim, CA, Krissy (David) Retrum of Cypress, CA, and Dan Purtell of Avon, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Grant.
In respect to KenÂ's memory, family and friends will gather at the Omro Funeral Home, on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 Noon. Ken will be laid to rest in the Waukau Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Vitas Hospice Charitable Funds, 220 Commerce, Suite 1, Irvine, CA 92602, or donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Omro.
