Lorraine E. "Lovey" Kromm, age 80 died at home surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness, on Monday, April 3, 2006. She was born in Oshkosh on October 20, 1925 to Emmet and Bertha (Schuettpelz) Love. Lovey married Herman William Kromm Sr. on June 8, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1978.

Lovey was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was spirited, loving, and compassionate and had a love of dogs. She and her husband owned the Empire Bar for 20 years, and she was a waitress for many years. She loved dancing and could be found dancing to "Rock Around The Clock" whenever she could.

Lovey is survived by her children: Bonnie Kromm of Oshkosh, Marcia Jean Ortiz (close friend Larry Gintner) of Neenah, Herman William Kromm Jr. of Oshkosh, Harley Dale Kromm of Oshkosh, Linda Colleen (Thomas) Gintner of Larsen, Holly Drew (close friend Alan Krohn) of Neenah, and Rodney Allan (Trudy) Kromm of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Joel (Dawn) Ortiz, Chad Hounsell (friend Sarah), Bradley (Mindy) Hounsell, Casey Kromm, Jamie (Lindsey) Drew, Christopher Kromm, Lynsie Kromm, Ashley Drew, Patsie Kromm, April Kromm, and Katlin Kromm; step-grandchildren: Georgia Erdmann (friend Jim), and Nicole (Corey) Murphy; great-grandchildren: Delaney Ortiz, Adalia Ortiz, Aaliyah Hounsell, Sadie Ortiz, Hunter Hounsell, and Nicholas Drew; and step-great-grandchildren: Brianna Erdmann, Evan Murphy, and one more expected in June. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Grace (Dick) Pable, Jerry (Colleen) Michaelis, and Franklin (Carol) Guenther Jr.; Dear friends: Richard Stark, Delores "Dee Dee" Mathe, Elaine Frank, Cindy (Peter) Stopinski, all her Bingo Ladies; and Tosha her dear loving dog. Preceding her in death: son-in-law: Steven Drew, grandson: Justin Ortiz, sisters: Frieda Michaelis, Evelyn and (Franklin) Guenther and brother: Harold Love.

Funeral services for Lovey will be held Thursday 1:00 P.M. April 6, 2006, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street, Oshkosh. The Reverend Walter Moll will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support at the church on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park Friday April 7, 2006 for the immediate family. A memorial has been established.

Lovey will always be remembered for her spirit, love of family, friends, and her love of Jesus, whose home she is now at. She looked forward to her Friday morning walks to the hairdresser, Friday nights at Bingo, casino trips with special friends and family. Those people whose lives she has touched will remember her always. She died like she lived: giving to her children all her love....her way!!
