Lorraine Mary (Horejs) Schneider, age 97, gained her Heavenly wings, February 19, 2026. She is survived by her children, Don (Lisa) Schneider, Steve (Sherrie) Schneider and Sandy (Wally) Cartwright; daughter-in-law, Linda (Jim) Schneider; sisters, Jean (Bill) Mauritz and Patsy (Neil) Abitz; a dear sister-in-law, Carol Horejs; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Elizabeth Horejs; her husband, Norman; 6 siblings; son, Jim; and daughter, Karen.
Lorraine held many jobs in her lifetime, but the best job of all was being Mom and Gramma ‘Raine. Her last job before retiring was a candy dipper at Oaks Candy, which she absolutely loved! She enjoyed cooking, baking and feeding whoever walked in the door! Family gatherings lit up her world! Playing sheepshead and poker with the family was a Saturday night or Sunday tradition back on 12th street. She enjoyed bus trips to the casino and usually always won, “Lucky Lorraine” as she was called. An avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan as well. She never showed anger towards anyone and made the best of any bad situation. Always found the “happy.”
Her life the past 8 years were spent at Bethel Home where she was welcomed into her second family. She had her favorites but loved you all the same. She attended all of the activities that Laura and Angie could muster up as well as Happy Hour Thursdays with a brandy old-fashioned and a poker game which included baked treats, sometimes made by Ethel from Bethel! She was always up for some shenanigans and silly pictures with them as well as the volunteers that made her stay so special.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh, WI, 54902, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm with a Prayer Service starting at 4:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Miravida- Bethel Home Activities Department in her honor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Miravida Living for the love and care she felt and deserved. She thought highly of all of you and appreciated everything you did to make her comfortable and to Moments Hospice, for making her final journey peaceful and for the guidance you gave to our family for her final moments.
She will be missed by many but was loved by even more.
