Marcella A. Tamura, age 74, of Oshkosh, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at her home. Born on July 29, 1936, in Waupaca to Emil and Barbara (Trzebiatowski) Polly, Marcella attended and graduated from Berlin High School. She married Jerry McCarthy in Berlin and later married James Tamura on May 28, 1983 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Jim preceded Marcella in death in 1991.
While in Hawaii, Marcella was employed as a commercial bus driver and upon her return to Oshkosh she drove school buses for Kobussen Bus Company. Trips to a casino to "play the slots" was a favorite activity for Marcella.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Angie) McCarthy and David McCarthy, both of Oshkosh, and Jerome McCarthy Jr. of Hawaii; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; also a brother, Gregory Polly of Berlin; and nieces and nephews. Preceding Marcella in death is her husband, parents, and a sister-in-law, Joan Polly.
