Margaret T. Bartels died on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at the age of 93. She resided at Arborview Manor in Oshkosh. She was born on November 8, 1912 in Oshkosh to William and Emma (Drexler) Heppler. She married her first husband, Harold Brunover in June of 1934 in Oshkosh. Harold preceded her in death. Harold and Margaret had two wonderful children: Tom and Judy. Time passed, and she married Albert Bartels. They enjoyed many loving years with each other. He too, preceded Margaret in death.
Margaret was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing golf. She was also a member of the Daughters of Sarah group through church. Margaret will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Margaret is survived by her two children: Tom (Carrie) Brunover of Oshkosh and Judy (Gilbert) Wolf of Warrenton, VA. Seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive Margaret. Two sisters further survive her: Marie Gusti of Sanbruno, CA, and Sister Jean Heppler of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Harold Brunover and Albert Bartels; three sisters: Ang, Loretta, and Josephine; one brother: Norbert.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels. The service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 12 PM (noon), at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 1306 Michigan St., Oshkosh. Reverend R. David Gaskill will officiate. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers tributes, a memorial is being established in Margaret's name for Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank Arborview Manor and Staff, Mercy Hospital and Staff, and Affinity Hospice and Staff for all the care and support offered to Margaret.
