Margaret A. Marx, age 94 of Oshkosh, died at Evergreen Retirement Community on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. She was born in Oshkosh on May 4, 1912 to Rupert and Maria (Wolkerstorfer) Duchatschek. She married Merrill Marx who preceded her in death in July of 1947. She and Merrill had two sons: Donald and John Marx; they also preceded her in death.
Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She worked for A. O. Smith and was active in the Union. In retirement she volunteered in the Cameo Shop at the Oshkosh Senior Center and was very active in AARP. Margaret loved Oshkosh; she never wanted to live anywhere else. She was very active and was always helping someone.
Margaret is survived by grandchildren: Martha Marx of Dallas, Texas, Kelly Marx of Hopkins, Minnesota, Edward (Kim) Marx of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Hannah (John) Berger of Quinlan, Texas, Katherine (Jeffery) Paul of Fort Meyers, Florida, and Mark (Eileen) Marx of Chicago, Illinois; nine great-grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, Taylor, and Connor Marx; John and Samuel Berger; and Jennifer, Jamie, and Jacob Paul; daughter-in-laws: Joan Marx and Josephine Marx; brother: Leo Duchatschek; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Margaret will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation and support to be held on Monday at the funeral chapel from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial fund is being established for the Aurora Visiting Nurses Hospice organization and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
