Marie Cartwright, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Saturday afternoon, April 28, 2007 at Oakwood Manor. She was born in Oshkosh, the daughter of George and Anna (Stang) Fox. Marie married Vernon W. Cartwright on December 12, 1936 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2004.

Marie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer for Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary and Bethel Home Auxiliary. Sewing, crocheting, and embroidering were favorite pastimes for Marie. She was an important part of Vern's Cycle Center until her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Steven (Gloria) Cartwright of Waukesha; two daughters, Sondra Cartwright of Oshkosh, and Linda (John) D'Angona of Burbank, California; nine grandchildren, Kathryn (Brian) Knapp, Karen (Daniel) Stephany, Stefan D'Angona, Gena (Brian) Camposano, Michael, Sara, and Emily Cartwright, Zachary Cartwright, and Tasia (Cameron) McIntyre; three great-grandchildren, Owen Stephany, Adam Stephany, and Jacob Camposano; two brothers, Vernon Fox of Oshkosh and Arnold Fox of Racine; and one sister, Cerella Elmer of Oshkosh. Preceding Marie in death are her husband, parents, four brothers, John, Oliver, Edward, and George Fox; and a sister, Esther Hansen.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 12:00 noon in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Paul Lidtke officiating. Interment will take place in Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of the service at the funeral chapel.
