Marion E. Lisney, age 82, of Oshkosh, died peacefully in the morning hours of July 5, 2006 at Bethel Home. Marion was born on August 28, 1923 to Henry and Marie (Hartman) Fischer in Oshkosh. She was one of nine children. On November 23, 1946 she was united in marriage with Marvin Lisney at Zion Lutheran Church. Marvin preceded Marion in death on August 13, 2004.
Marion was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved to read and cook. Marion was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was very special to her.
Survivors include her two sons: Mark (Mary) Lisney of Louisville, Kentucky and Kevin (Marcia) Lisney of Winneconne. Marion is survived by four grandchildren: Erin (Bill) Walker of Tomah, Marty (Missy) Lisney of Oshkosh, and Dani and Taylor Lisney of Winneconne. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Raymond, Hannah, Kailey, and Logan. She is survived by three sisters: Lydia Demler, Linda Steinhilber, and Alma Kosmer, all of Oshkosh. Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends further survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin, four sisters: Esther Bathke, Leah Steinhilber, Ann Neustifter, and Elizabeth Guenther, one brother: Alex Fischer, and her parents.
Marion's funeral service was held on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street, at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Jeff Knoll officiated. The family received visitors from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Marion was laid to rest in Lakeview Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in Marion's name for the Zion Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Knoll and to the staff of Bethel Home. They would also like to thank Marty for all the special visits to grandma.
