Marjorie Geraldine Werch age 83 passed away at Evergreen Retirement Community on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. She was born on June 14, 1922, the daughter of Rinhold and Olga (Pagel) Werch of Berlin.


Marjorie was a 1941 graduate of Berlin High School and completed Federal Secretarial Course from the Franklin Institute in Rochester, New York in 1951. She worked for the Federal government, in the Pentagon during the Eisenhower era, for eight years following. She completed a practical nursing course from The National Institute of Practical Nursing in Washington D.C. and worked twenty years for specialists in many major cities in the United States. Marjorie moved to Oshkosh in September of 1984 to be near her family and to semi-retire.


Miss Werch was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Oshkosh and Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church. She also was a member of many clubs and organizations. Marjorie has been a resident of Evergreen Manor since April 1999.


She is survived by one brother: Russell A. (Betty) Werch of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one sister-in-law: Elaine Werch of Berlin; nieces: Nancy (John) Black of Nashville, Tennessee, Judy (James) Ryder of Charlotte, North Carolina, Melodi (Robert) McGuire of Oshkosh, Karen (David) Kligerman of Hawaii, and Sandra (Larry) Dehn of Berlin; many great-grand nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends further survive Marjorie. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Eleanor M. Shulfer; brother: Robert J. Werch.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery.
