Nathaniel J. "Jack" King III, age 72, of Clintonville, and formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee, died Saturday morning, May 28, 2011, at University Hospital in Madison. Born on August 28, 1938 in Knoxville to Nathaniel and Madeline (Pennock) King II, Jack married Teresa M. Wise on December 31, 1985 in Knoxville.
A commercial truck driver, Jack was employed by King Industries for several years. His love of animals led him to own and operate King's Ranch in the Waukau area, where horses were bred, trained, and boarded. He was a collector of classic automobiles and antiques. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa King; a son, John (Dawn) King; two step-sons, Kevin (Wanda) Lipp and David Nealon; three step-daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Carley, Kim (Jack Paulsen) Olesen, and Jackie (Robert) Churchwell; a grandson, Johnathan King; a great-grandson, Talan King; his former wife, Sue (Howard) Gintner; a sister, Barbara "Toots" (Lester) Laabs, a brother-in-law, Charlie O'Mary; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Weese. Preceding Jack in death is his parents, a grandson, William "Bill" King; two sisters, Delores O'Mary and Edna Caulkins, and step-brother, Reuben Pennock.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Alan Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lake View Memorial Park with full Military Honors. Family and friends may visit and share memories on Wednesday from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral chapel. A memorial in Jack's memory is being established by his family.
