Robert “Bob” A. Marin, age 81, was born to Richard and Beatrice Marin on November 11, 1944, in Oshkosh, WI. He was the fourth of six children. Bob attended Catholic Schools growing up, and was recruited by Lourdes High School, where he played on the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He was Lourdes’ first Prom King and a member of the Glee Club. After graduating, he continued playing many sports, especially baseball, where he rarely went to a game without several home runs.

He married his wife Barbara Kay Bradley over 60 years ago, with whom he enjoyed spending time on Lake Winnebago and traveling. They had one daughter, Wendy Marin-Weiner.

Bob graduated from Fox Valley Technical College and worked for Rockwell International for 30 years as a Skilled Tradesman. He was asked many times to join their management team but declined because he did not want to be “The Man”–– a testament to his endless humility. Bob went on to work at the YMCA for 6 years, and then the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for over 20 years as a Fisheries Technician, his dream job. He also ran his own Fishing Guide Service and was featured on Amazon Prime in a documentary called “Mysteries of the Great Lakes.”

Bob loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could boating, fishing, and hunting. He was the winner of numerous fishing tournaments and awards and was a highly skilled archer. Over the years, he was a member or participant of many local organizations. To name a few, but not all: Fishing Has No Boundaries, Walleyes for Tomorrow, Josie's Gift, Boys and Girls Club, Tomorrow's Anglers, Pheasants Forever, White Tails, Otter Street Fishing Club, Ducks Unlimited and Sturgeon for Tomorrow- where he was a proud Director and Officer. He shared his love of the outdoors with his wife, daughter, grandkids, friends, and community. As a younger man, he was the life of the party, becoming a long-time mentor, sponsor, and friend to many in Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a very strong, hardworking man who was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Bob was also a deeply spiritual man who loved all and was loved by all, stating that God was his “Main Man”. Finally, who could forget Bob’s undeniably devilish personality that made him so much fun to be around?

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Wendy (Russell Weiner) of Ann Arbor, MI, and their children Abigail, Joshua, and Zachary. He also survived by his beloved dog, Sunny, and his brother, Jim (Tracy); and his sister, Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Donald; and sister, Sandy (Lee Hanson).
