Obituary

Rose M. Kromm, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.She was born on March 14, 1937, in Wauwatosa, daughter of the late Marie Langlitz.
On June 29, 1957, Rose married Floyd P. Kromm, in Oshkosh, at Zion Lutheran Church, and together they built a life filled with laughter and family and enjoyed 67 years of marriage together.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who eagerly attended as many sporting events, musicals, and recitals as she could. She was so proud of everything that her children and grandchildren accomplished. Rose was primarily a homemaker, a woman with a kind heart, living life day-to-day, and spending time with her family was her greatest joy. She did enjoy a few part-time jobs, mostly with Miles Kimball during the holiday season for over 25 years.
Our family enjoys, to this day, the Christmas ornaments and decorations she would gift us with through her time at Miles Kimball.
In retirement, Rose helped raise her two grandchildren and was always available for whatever was needed. Along with her husband, she enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, taking things one day at a time, spending time with family, spoiling her fur-baby, doing painting-by-numbers, watching the Green Bay Packers, and going to rummage sales.
Rose is survived by her children, Debbie (Tod) Schmick and Bob (Lauren) Kromm; sisters, Shirley Zumstein and Barb (Mark) Hannan; brothers, Ron (special friend Joy) Knoblauch and Don (Dorell) Knoblauch; and sister-in-law, Jean (Leon) Klatt; grandchildren, Brandon (Kati), Matthew (Cassidy), Erin, Christy (Chad) and Becky (Jason); along with seven great-grandchildren, Gage, Ella, Marin, Alayna, Logan, Olivia and Brielle. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved feline companion, Molly.
Along with her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; brother-in-law, Henry Kromm, Jr.; and sisters-in-law Wilma Wilson and Lois Kromm.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 26 at Lake View Memorial Chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh, WI, until the time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating, with interment to follow. Any monetary donations will be put toward a local charity/memorial in her honor, yet to be determined.
We would like to give special thanks to her kind friend and neighbor, Tom Wiesheipl, who helped her with everyday needs, and whatever was needed, while she remained in the family home.
The family is also grateful to the staff at Ascension-Mercy and Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care. A special thank you as well to Pastor Knoll for his care, concern, and visiting her during this time.
