Obituary

Troy A. Larsen, age 42, of Omro, passed away Monday morning, July 30, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center. Troy was born August 15, 1969, in Oshkosh, the son of Inert and Patricia (Quigley) Larsen. Troy grew up in the Omro area and was a graduate of Omro High School. He continued his education and later graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and then earned his Master's Degree in Horticulture from the University of New Mexico. Troy had served in the Peace Corp. in Micronesia South Seas Islands. He also had worked at Pioneer Seed Company in Hawaii, the University of Hawaii and then moved back to Wisconsin in 2009, where he worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.

Troy is loved and will be missed by his parents, Inert (Lori) Larsen of Waukau, Patricia Larsen of Eureka; grandmother, Kathleen Quigley; sisters, Tammy (Steve) Gilles of Omro, Tracy Larsen (Brian) of Manchester; nieces and nephews, Peter, Inert, Katie and Kayla Gilles, Christopher Hunt; great niece, Bristol Gilles; his Scarlet MaCaw, Peggy, who was his lifelong companion; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth and grandparents, Winnie (Larsen) and Fred Applebee.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the Waukau United Methodist Church, Hwy. 116, Waukau, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Kristen Lowe officiating. Troy will be laid to rest, Friday, August 3, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at Waukau Cemetery. A memorial in his name is being established.

The family would like to thank Nurse Rhonda and the entire ICU Staff at Mercy Medical Center for their professionalism and above all else the compassion shown to Troy and his entire family.
